First-Ever Celebrity Summer Street Crunch Game Set For Saturday, July 29

Syracuse, NY (July 26, 2006) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they will hold the first-ever Celebrity Summer Street Crunch game on Saturday, July 29 at Alliance Bank Stadium. Crunch fan favorite Brandon Sugden will serve as the games' referee. Game time is set for 10 a.m. and will be preceded and followed by Summer Street Crunch youth games.

Area celebrities scheduled to appear include (list subject to change), Al (Syracuse Crunch mascot), Jon Alhart (WIXT), Brent Axe (WHEN), Molly English (Syracuse New Times), Mike Folsom (Syracuse Crunch), Ed Gonser (AP), Keith Kobland (WTVH), Vance Lederman (Syracuse Crunch), Jim Lerch (WHEN), Wayne Mahar (WSTM), Kevin Maher ( WTVH), Marne Mason (Y94), Bob McElligott (Syracuse Crunch), Charlie Miller (Post Standard), Justin Park (Syracuse New Times), Jessob Reisbeck (WSTM), Jim Sarosy (Syracuse Crunch), Scooch (Syracuse SkyChiefs mascot), John Simone (Syracuse SkyChiefs), Bob Suida (Post Standard), Shannon Trice (Post Standard) and Dan Van Hise (News 10 Now).

The 2006 Summer Street Crunch program is a series of street hockey games open to all youths between the ages of 5-14 years old.

On selected Saturdays throughout the summer, a tournament is held in which two (2) teams from two (2) age groups (5- 9, 10-14) will compete against each other in an hour long street hockey game. Helmets, sticks and sneakers (no skates) are required.

Registration for the tournament is only $10 per player. Any individual that registers for all four (4) games by June 30 will receive a special rate of $30. To register call the Crunch office at (315) 473-4444.

Registration includes the following:

*A roster spot for one game.
*An official Street Crunch t-shirt.
*A youth ticket to the second home game of the Crunch's upcoming 2006-07 season.
*An invitation to a pre-game pizza party.

July 15 - Alliance Bank Stadium @ 9 a.m.
July 29 - Alliance Bank Stadium @ 9 a.m.
August 12 - Alliance Bank Stadium @ 9 a.m.
September 9 - Alliance Bank Stadium @ 9a.m.

Season tickets for the 2006-07 season are now on sale and can be purchased by calling the Crunch office at (315) 473- 4444 or by stopping by the Crunch office in the War Memorial at Oncenter.
