
Syracuse Crunch Recall Allen York from Greenville Swamp Rabbits

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse Crunch have recalled goaltender Allen York from the Greenville Swamp Rabbits of the ECHL, general manager Julien BriseBois announced today.
York, 26, appeared in one preseason contest with the Crunch this season, where he pitched a 17-save shutout. He was loaned to Greenville on Oct. 6 and started one game, making 24 saves with a .828 saves percentage.
York appeared in eight games with the Crunch during the 2014-15 season, posting a 3.26 goals-against average and .895 save percentage to go along with a 2-3-1 record. He also played in 26 games with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL, recording a 17-5-3 record with a 2.63 goals-against average, .903 save percentage and four shutouts. Additionally, York appeared in eight Kelly Cup Playoffs games, tallying a 4-3-0 record, 2.50 goals-against average and .899 save percentage.
During the 2013-14 season, York played for six teams: four in the AHL (Charlotte, Texas, Rockford and Syracuse) and two in the ECHL (Evansville and South Carolina). The Wetaskiwin, Alberta native started four games for the Crunch and posted a 1-2-1 record including a 39-save shutout of Hershey on Feb. 22, 2014.
York has appeared in 48 career AHL games for Springfield, Charlotte, Texas, Rockford and Syracuse compiling a 23-15-4 record, 2.66 goals-against average and .905 save percentage. He also has three career AHL shutouts. York reached the National Hockey League during the 2011-12 season and went 3-2-0 in 11 games for the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Prior to his professional career, the 6-foot-3, 194-pound netminder spent three seasons at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 2008 to 2011, earning a 37-34-8 record with four shutouts.
York was selected in the sixth round, 158th overall, by Columbus in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
