IceCaps Hang on for Another Home Win

St. John's, NL - The St. John's IceCaps scored three times in the opening period and added a pair in the second for a 5-4 win over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers Saturday night at Mile One Centre.

Charles Hudon, Christian Thomas and Bud Holloway all notched a goal and an assist and Darren Dietz and Mark Barberio picked up two assists each. Daniel Carr opened the scoring just 1:39 into the game while Nikita Scherbak's second period goal was the first of his pro career. Rookie Zach Fucale stopped 29-of-33 shots to move to 3-0 on the season.

Bridgeport scored two third period tallies to narrow the deficit to one but the IceCaps shut the door for their fourth home win in five games, moving to 5-1-1 in 2015-16.

The IceCaps wrap up their six-game home stand tomorrow afternoon in a rematch vs. the Sound Tigers (4:00 PM). Tickets are still available at the Mile One Centre Box Office and online at www.mileonecentre.com.
