Syracuse Chiefs' Homestand Highlights - April 11th-13th
April 11, 2016 - International League (IL1)
Syracuse Mets News Release
After an opening-weekend postponement, the Syracuse Chiefs are back in town to kick off the 2016 home season at NBT Bank Stadium. The Chiefs and Buffalo Bisons begin a three-game series, starting with the new home opener on Monday night at 6:35 p.m. On Wednesday, the team will celebrate "Mulligan Day" to honor the Dollar Thursday deals scheduled for last week's Opening Day.
On "Mulligan Day", the Chiefs are going one step further in honoring last weekend's Masters. Any fan wearing a green sport jacket, the traditional outfit of a Masters champion, will receive free admission to Wednesday's game.
"Monday night is all about the pomp and circumstance of Opening Day", said Chiefs general manager Jason Smorol. "Then, on Wednesday, we're going to do what Jordan Spieth wishes he could do on the 12th hole on Sunday - we're taking a mulligan! All our great Dollar Thursday deals from Opening Day now apply on Wednesday. Take the afternoon off, wear your Sunday championship best and let's have some fun!"
Monday night, the Chiefs and Bisons officially open the Syracuse home season. Before the game, fans can enjoy the traditional Opening Day festivities, such as the announcement of full rosters and starting lineups, special pregame appearances and more. Monday doubles as Jackie Robinson Tribute Day, presented by WCNY Connected. In addition, on a BlueRock Energy Social Media Monday, fans can win a Bobby Cox autographed baseball, four Chiefs tickets or a Chiefs parking pass by simply guessing the correct score on the team's website, at syracusechiefs.com.
Tuesday, the Chiefs/Bisons series continues at 6:35 on a Two-For Tuesday, presented by 105.9 The Rebel. Every Tuesday at home this season, fans can enjoy great concession deals. This Tuesday, two chicken-and-waffle combinations are available for the price of one.
Chiefs fans have two chances to win free tickets on Wednesday's game, a Turning Stone Winning Wednesday. Wednesday marks the new day for Smorol's "53 or Free Guarantee". If the temperature during Wednesday's game does not reach 53 degrees, all fans in attendance will receive a voucher for a free ticket that can be exchanged for any 2016 game in April or May. In addition, whenever the Chiefs win during a Wednesday home game this year, fans can exchange their ticket stubs for a free game ticket of equal or lesser regular-season value.
Wednesday is also Mulligan Day, presented by Gannon Pest Control. With the Chiefs taking a "mulligan" for some Opening-Day festivities, fans can purchase $1 Hofmann hot dogs, $1 Coca-Cola products and $2 Saranac, Coors, Labatt and 1911 alcoholic beverages. Chiefs magnet schedules will also be available to the first 4,000 fans through the gate, courtesy of Gannon Pest Control. Fans can also take part in Baseball Bingo, sponsored by Turning Stone, and win great prizes on every Wednesday home game.
Tickets for all three games are available and can be purchased at syracusechiefs.com, by calling 474-7833, or by visiting the NBT Bank Stadium ticket office during regular business hours.
