Syracuse Mets News Release

Syracuse, NY - The Syracuse Chiefs have postponed tonight's game against the Buffalo Bisons due to rain throughout the day and in the forecast for tonight. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Tuesday night with Game One scheduled to start at 4:05 p.m. Gates will open at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon for the Chiefs' home opener.

Traditional Opening Day festivities, including ceremonial first pitches and full roster introductions, will now take place pregame Wednesday. Gates will open for Wednesday's 1:05 p.m. game at 12:00 p.m.

"We're shaking our head just as much as everyone in this weather", said Chiefs general manager Jason Smorol, "but the rain makes tonight an unplayable game once again. So, we're going to take another mulligan for Wednesday and put our full Opening-Day force into Wednesday's 'Mulligan Day'! Tomorrow's Opening-Day doubleheader and Wednesday's special afternoon game will still make this a homestand to remember."

Jackie Robinson Tribute Day, sponsored by WCNY Connected, had been scheduled for Monday night. The Chiefs would like to remind fans that "Jackie Robinson", a Ken Burns documentary, will premiere tonight on WCNY TV from 9 to 11 p.m., with Part One of the two-part documentary. Part Two will air on Tuesday night at 9 p.m.

The Chiefs will start Taylor Hill and Austin Voth in Tuesday's doubleheader against a pair of Bisons pitchers to be announced.
