Seattle Storm News Release

SEATTLE, Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009 - The Seattle Storm today announced that forward Swin Cash will miss the last two games of the regular season due to the passing of her grandmother in Pennsylvania.

Cash, in her second season with the Storm, will not be in Seattle for the team's last regular-season home game vs. the Phoenix Mercury on Thursday, Sept. 10. She will also miss the team's final regular-season matchup against the Silver Stars in San Antonio.

She is expected to rejoin the team for Seattle's Western Conference Semifinals series next week, which begins with an away game on either Wednesday, Sept. 16 or Thursday, Sept. 17. The exact date and opponent has yet to be determined, pending the outcome of other WNBA games this week.

In her eighth WNBA season, Cash is averaging 12.2 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. She was named MVP of the 2009 WNBA All-Star game - the first Storm player to win that honor - after scoring 22 points on 10-of-16 shooting, adding six rebounds and four assists. On Aug. 15, Cash reached the 3,000-point career mark vs. the Dream in Atlanta, making her the 29th player in WNBA history to score 3,000 career points.

Single-game tickets for the Seattle Storm's first home playoff game of the Western Conference Semifinals at KeyArena are available to purchase tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009, starting at 10 a.m. Tickets start at just $16 and can be purchased online at stormbasketball.com or by calling 1-877-WNBA-TIX.
