
Sparks Clinch Berth In 2009 Playoffs

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Sparks have clinched a berth in the WNBA playoffs for the 10th time in franchise history and the second consecutive year after beating the San Antonio Silver Stars tonight at STAPLES Center.
"The team we put together this year has a lot of experience and we hope to use that to our advantage during this postseason run," said Sparks Vice President & General Manager Penny Toler. "This gets us one step closer to achieving our ultimate goal for the season, winning another WNBA Championship."
The Sparks currently sit in third place in the Western Conference, two games ahead of the San Antonio Silver Stars and will host their first-round game on either September 16th or 17th at STAPLES Center.
Sparks first-round playoff tickets are on sale now and ticket pricing for the game will be the same as pricing during the regular season. Tickets can be purchased online at www.lasparks.com, www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 1-800-WNBA-TIX.
