ABOUT LAST NIGHT: The RailRiders fell down six runs early and dropped a 9-3 decision to the Pawtucket Red Sox on Thursday night at PNC Field. Chris Dominguez homered twice for the PawSox. Making his fifth career start, Tyler Webb absorbed the loss after allowing six runs on seven hits in two innings.

MAGIC NUMBER: The RailRiders' magic number to clinch a playoff berth remains 10. SWB paces Lehigh Valley by three in the loss column for the division. However, the top three teams in the wild-card chase all reside in the North with Lehigh Valley (74-5q) leading the way followed by Rochester (69-57) and Pawtucket (66-59). Playing just above .500 ball down the stretch at 10-8 would guarantee at least the wild-card spot for Al Pedrique's club.

RED THUNDER: With a 2-for-4 night, Clint Frazier earned his second straight two-hit game. Frazier has multi-hit efforts in four of his last six games played. The 21-year-old also tallied his first Triple-A outfield assist on Thursday night. He threw out Christian Vazquez at home on a single to right by Chris Marrero in the second inning. Frazier has started nine games in left field, three in center and four in right.

DEPARTING FLIGHTS: SWB pitching allowed two home runs last night, one by Tyler Webb and the other from Diego Moreno. The RailRiders have surrendered seven round-trippers in two games and 12 in their last eight games played. Brady Lail yielded seven of those over two starts (9.2IP) in that time.Their year-long total of 82 long balls allowed is tied for fifth fewest in the IL.

SOL MAN: Donovan Solano finished 0-for-3, snapping a six-game hitting streak. the night marked just his fifth hitless outing in 17 games playing in August. Solano has slashed .377/.400/.557/.957 in August. His 61 RBIs on the season trail only Aaron Judge (65) for the team lead. Solano's .302 average ties for sixth in the IL and his 135 hits trail only SWB alumnus/current Buffalo Bison Jesus Montero (138) and teammate Ben Gamel (137).

ROCKIN' REF: Rob Refsnyder went 2-for-4 with an RBI. In seven SWB games since his return from the bigs, Refsnyder has gone 10-for-23 (.435) with five RBIs and four walks for a .483 OBP. He has hit safely in 25 of his last 27 Triple-A games, hitting .386 with eight doubles and two homers in that time. The run has shot his average up from .190 to .314.

BLACKJACK: The RailRiders' 4-0 win in Sunday's doubleheader opener marked their franchise-record 21st shutout of the season. SWB owns the most shutout wins in MiLB. The old SWB single-season record for shutouts, 16, was set by the 2009 SWB Yankees. The 21 shutouts also match the IL's modern-era record set by the 1975 Tidewater Tides and matched by the 2015 Rochester Red Wings. The RailRiders (3.00) own the best team ERA in Triple-A.

I'LL GET YOU NEXT TIME GADGET, NEXT TIME: The RailRiders posted more wins against Pawtucket (13-6) than any other team in 2015. They went 5-3 in the Ocean State and 8-3 at PNC Field. At 7-7 against the PawSox this season, they have taken 20 of 33 and 31 of 49 in the series going back to 2014. However, Pawtucket has won five of six, including a three-game sweep at McCoy Stadium.

OFF THE RAILS: Cesar Puello doubled twice and drove in two runs in Thursday's loss...through 11 games played in August, Puello has slashed .333/.360/.708/1.068 with three doubles, two homers and seven RBIs...the six runs allowed by Webb were a career-worst for the left-hander...Webb yielded five unearned runs to Rochester on April 15, 2015...with Single-A Charleston, he allowed 5R/ER in two innings at Greensboro on July 18, 2013...Of 18 remaining games, 9 are against the bottom two IL North teams: Syracuse (4) and Buffalo (5).
