
Pigs Battle Chiefs in Doubleheader on Friday

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will battle the Syracuse Chiefs in a doubleheader on Friday evening at NBT Bank Stadium. First pitch of game one is slated for 5:05 p.m.
RHP Phil Klein (2-1, 1.64) gets the ball for the Pigs in game one on Friday night. Klein-the reigning IL Pitcher of the Week-earned the win on Sunday vs. Indianapolis when he allowed two hits while walking two and fanning 11 over eight shutout innings. The Columbus, Ohio native has allowed one earned run or less in five of his six starts with the IronPigs.
RHP Taylor Hill (6-10, 4.63) will be on the bump for Syracuse opposite Klein. Hill got the loss on Sunday vs. Columbus after giving up five runs on six hits to go along with two walks and five strikeouts in 6.0 IP. Back on July 26 against the IronPigs, the right-hander gave up seven runs (six earned) on four hits in 1.1 IP and was dealt the loss.
LHP James Russell (3-5, 3.79) will make a spot start for the IronPigs in game two. Russell's last outing came in relief on Saturday vs. Indianapolis when he gave up one hit while fanning a pair over two shutout innings.
RHP Paolo Espino (7-10, 3.55) gets the ball for Syracuse opposite Russell in the nightcap. Espino earned the win on Sunday vs. Columbus after surrendering three runs (two earned) on six hits to go along with five strikeouts in six innings of work.
