Charleston RiverDogs News Release

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Seats still remain on the Charleston RiverDogs' planned road trip to Savannah on Saturday, August, 27.

RiverDogs fans can be a part of a pleasurable day on the "Swat the Sand Gnats" Bus Trip as the club visits the rival Savannah Sand Gnats. For a flat fee, fans will receive chartered bus transportation with hospitality, a "Swat the Sand Gnats" T-Shirt, a sand gnat swatter and a ticket to that night's 6:05 game at Historic Grayson Stadium. Cost of the trip is $65 ($50 for RiverDogs season ticket holders).

Fans will meet at the Joseph P. Riley, Jr. parking lot at noon on Aug. 27 and board the bus. When arriving in Savannah they will have the opportunity to explore the many restaurants, bars and shops of Savannah's famed River Street. The bus will then depart for the game, enjoy post-game fireworks and return to Charleston following the conclusion of the contest.

Historic Grayson Stadium is one of the gems of minor league parks in the south. The Sand Gnats are a Savannah baseball tradition dating back to 1904. Baseball legends such as Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle and Jackie Robinson have graced the field that is located on scenic Victory Drive.

"We are so excited to support our hometown team on our first organized chartered bus trip," said Director of Special Events Melissa Azevedo, "We would love for this to become an annual experience".
