September 30, 2018 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - Riley Sutter celebrated the news of his entry level contract with the Washington Capitals by scoring two goals and added an assist, helping lift the Everett Silvertips to a 3-2 road victory over the Tri-City Americans before 3,076 fans at Toyota Center on Saturday in WHL action.

Wyatte Wylie notched a pair of assists, giving him five in the first four games while Dustin Wolf turned in a 22 save effort. The Silvertips, only letting a pair of two-man advantage goals get by, went 7-of-9 on the penalty kill while turning in an efficient 2-of-3 effort on the power play.

Sutter's 3 points helped him surpass the 100-point mark in his Silvertips and WHL career.

UP NEXT: The Silvertips return home for their next game after another five-day layoff, hosting the Seattle Thunderbirds on Friday at 7:35 p.m. (1520 AM / 101.1 FM / Tips App / WHL Live) for Pink The Rink. Sutter rifled a snap shot past Beck Warm for a 1-0 lead on the power play, 5:21 into the game with Sutter positioned at the right circle. After Wolf turned in an impressive stop on Paycen Bjorklund's one timer, Connor Dewar boosted the lead to 2-0 on another power play tally at 14:07 when Dewar slammed a rebound past the left circle.

Tri-City took advantage of a five-on-three opportunity in the second period at 6:49, when Isaac Johnson finished a wrist shot between the circles for a two-goal deficit, and Krystof Hrabik was credited for his third goal of the season on another two-man advantage just 42 seconds into the third period.

The Tips maneuvered penalty issues in the third period including a late interference penalty to Gianni Fairbrother, but killed the penalty and then kept any potentially serious looks at their own net away in a 6-on-5 situation. A brief melee ensued at the final horn, but the Tips skated away in the rematch of the Western Conference Championship Series with a 2-2-0-0 record.

Beck Warm took the loss for Tri-City on a 20 save effort.
