
Surf Offense Explodes For 16-8 Win

ATLANTIC CITY- It was a slugfest between Atlantic City and Quebec on a hot afternoon at Bernie Robbins Stadium in front of 2715. The Surf took game two by a score of 16-8.
The Surf had a season high 21 hits on the afternoon. Leadoff man Lucas Taylor led the Surf going 5-for-6 with three RBI and three runs scored. Taylor's five hits ties a Can-Am League record.
The Surf jumped out to a huge eight run first inning, thanks in part to a three run homer from Rob Fischer, and a two run homer from David Keesee. Fischer's homerun was the 1,300th in Atlantic City Surf history.
Atlantic City's Brian Rodaway received his league leading 11th win of the season. Rodaway pitched six and two third innings allowing three runs on six hits. Rodaway struck out three while walking three.
Starting pitcher Keith Dunn was torched by the Surf, pitching one inning allowing nine hits and eight runs while walking two. Reliever Shawn Ryan pitched six and two third innings allowing eight runs on 12 hits.
The rubber match will be tomorrow at Bernie Robbins Stadium, first pitch at 7:05 PM. Atlantic City's Ben Thurmond (8-5) will meet Quebec's Kevin Beavers (4-2).
