(Charleston-SC)- What do you do when your scheduled promotional giveaway item gets stuck on a train in Utah?

Answer: You give away rally towels!

Advance Auto Parts presents rally towel giveaway night (for the first 1,000 fans) Saturday, April 24 at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. Fans can use the towels to cheer on the RiverDogs as they attempt to head north in the standings, and the train as it attempts to head east.

Originally scheduled as sunshield giveaway night, the RiverDogs were made aware earlier this week that the sunshields were stuck on a train in the middle of Utah and would not arrive until next week at the earliest.

"At least the interior of the train cars won't overheat," RiverDogs General Manager David Echols said.

The cargo train originated in California and the sunshields are scheduled to disembark in Chicago, board a plane and head to Charleston.

"They sound like pretty sophisticated sunshields to me," Echols added.

The sunshields will then be given away as part of Silent Night II- Sounds of the Game, Monday, June 14.

The white rally towels feature the RiverDogs logo along with the logos of Advance Auto Parts and promotional partner ABC 4.

Tickets for all RiverDogs home games and the 45th Annual South Atlantic League, June 29 at Riley Park, are available in person at the Riley Park Box Office, by phone at (843) 577-DOGS (3647) and online at etix.com and riverdogs.com.
