Pitcher of the Week

Shaun Marcum – Charleston Alley Cats

Shaun Marcum notched pitching honors with a brilliant 10-0 complete game victory over Greensboro Thursday night to register the league's first complete game of the season. The 22-year old righthander surrendered just four hits, allowed one walk and fanned eight in raising his record to 2-0 and 1.29 ERA. Marcum has been instrumental in the Alley Cats rise to the top of the Northern Division with an 11-2 record and current seven-game winning streak.

Ian Bladergroen – Capital City Bombers

Ian Bladergroen slugged four home runs and drove in 11 RBI in leading the first-place Capital City Bombers to a 5-1 record during the week and a 10-4 record overall in the Southern Division. The 20-year old lefty has already equaled his overall home runs (6) hit last year, his first professional season. He had nine hits (3 doubles) in 25 at bats and hit in all six games during the span. Bladergroen is ranked fourth in the South Atlantic League with a .396 batting average and leads the league in home runs (6) and RBI (19). He ends the week with six-game RBI streak.
