Suns to celebrate hot dog's 100th birthday

The Suns depart today for a two-game set at West Virginia but return home to Municipal Stadium June 7 & 8 for a quick two-game series vs. the Power.

Wednesday's game (7:05pm) features Coach Scott of Boonsboro High School as the 2nd of two in our 2006 "High School Heroes" bobblehead series. The 1st 1,000 fans to enter the ballpark on Wednesday will receive a bobblehead of the popular Boonsboro coach. Wednesdays are also "Kids Eat Free Wednesdays," thanks to Susquehanna Bank. Any child that pays for a full price general admission ticket (just $5) at the ticket office receives a free hot dog, popcorn, soda and candy box!

Thursday is the return of the Suns popular "Thirsty Thursdays," presented by Twigg Cycles and Today's Hottest Country 104.7fm WAYZ. All 12oz domestic draft beers are just $1 all night long. In addition, the Twigg Cycles Calendar Girl search continues, live from the Suns Beer Garden.

Making this Thursday even more special is the celebration of the hot dog's 100th birthday, presented by Esskay Hot Dogs! All hot dogs will also be just $1 all night long, thanks to Esskay, the Suns exclusive provider of hot dogs. Thursday will feature hot dog eating contests, the singing of "Happy Birthday" to the hot dog, the game's first pitch thrown out by the Suns famous Esskay "Hot Dog Man" and a "magic golden ticket" promotion (a la Willy Wonka) where one gold ticket will be hidden inside a hot dog wrapper giving the lucky winner free hot dogs for the rest of the year inside Municipal Stadium. Game time on Thursday is 7:05pm.

DOUBLEHEADER ROAD TRIP BOOKING FAST!

On June 24th, the Suns have chartered a bus for our 2nd annual one-day Road Trip. This year's trip is a doubleheader! First, Suns fans will board the bus at Municipal Stadium and head to Baltimore's Camden Yards to watch the Orioles take on the Washington Nationals that afternoon. Immediately following the game, the bus will head back to Hagerstown in time to catch the Suns take on the Lakewood BlueClaws that evening beginning at 7:05pm.

Reservations for the bus are filling up fast. Seats are limited. The price is $55 and includes the bus transportation, parking, your ticket to the Orioles/Nationals game and your ticket to the Suns/BlueClaws game. In addition, the Suns will provide snacks for the bus trip as well as prizes for trivia contests.
