Suns' Streak Snapped at Six in 9-1 Loss to Delmarva

Hagerstown, MD - The Hagerstown Suns (23-16) had their winning streak snapped at six games by the Delmarva Shorebirds (19-22) in a 9-1 loss at Municipal Stadium on Saturday Night.

Suns starting pitcher Taylor Hill (3-3) suffered the loss, pitching six innings and allowing four runs on nine hits. Brian Goodwin drove in the Suns' only run with an RBI double, one of just five hits in the game for the home team.

Shorebirds starting pitcher Miguel Chalas (4-2) earned the win by allowing one run on four hits while striking out five batters over six innings. Reliever Jake Cowan (4) earned the save, delivering three scoreless innings behind Chalas to finish the game.

The Shorebirds hit back-to-back home runs in a four-run seventh inning to blow the game open, getting a three-run homer from Nicky Delmonico followed by a solo shot from Justin Dalles. Shortstop Mychal Givens went 3-for-4 with an RBI.

The Suns and Shorebirds will complete their four-game series at Municipal Stadium on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. when left-hander Kylin Turnbull (1-2) makes the start against Delmarva's RHP Dylan Bundy (0-0).
