Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp News Release
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. â The Jacksonville Suns announced today that the team will play a doubleheader with the Tennessee Smokies at 6:05 p.m., Tuesday, April 15. The doubleheader will consist of two seven-inning games.
Two games were rained out when the Suns visited the Smokies last week. The two teams were able to make up only one of the two rainouts while in Tennessee, forcing the Tuesday doubleheader.
The Suns and Smokies were originally to play a single game at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday. All tickets for the originally scheduled game will be honored for both games of the doubleheader.
This will be the first doubleheader played at the new Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. The Suns are coming off a very successful ballpark opening on Friday night, when the club set an all-time Jacksonville baseball attendance record with 12, 943 fans attending the opening night.
For more information on tickets for the doubleheader or the Suns remaining two games of the first homestand on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday evening, call the Suns ticket office at 358-2846 or online at www.jaxsuns.com.
