Mobile BayBears News Release
MOBILE, AL â The Mobile BayBears were white washed for the third time this week, as four Greenville Braves pitchers combined on a four-hit shutout. Once again, the BayBears received solid pitching from their starter as Chris Rojas threw six shut out innings himself, allowing only four hits while striking out six.
Neither starter was involved in the decision, as the game was scoreless entering the eighth. The G-Braves scored their lone run as Cory Aldridge scored from first after Bill McCarthy's base hit to left got under Alex Fernandez's glove and went all the way to the wall. Reliever Bryan Gaal took the loss falling to 0-2 on the season. The win went to The G-Braves Daniel Curtis (1-0) who threw a scoreless seventh inning.
The third and final game of the series is Sunday night at 7:05. LHP Roger Deago (0-0; 0.00) will start on the mound for Mobile against Greenville RHP Brett Evert (1-0; 0.00).
