CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Lucas May knocked in the game-winning run with a tenth inning sacrifice fly leading the Jacksonville Suns (57-69, 24-32) to a 5-4, ten inning victory over the Chattanooga Lookouts (60-66, 23-33) in front of 1,785 Monday night at AT&T Field.

With the win Jacksonville improved to 2-10 in extra inning games. The Suns lead the season series against Chattanooga five games to two.

The Suns took an early 4-0 lead on a first inning, three-run homerun from Russell Mitchell, followed in the second inning by a two-out Chattanooga error leading to an Adam Godwin run.

Chattanooga scored two runs against Jacksonville starter Danny Muegge in the fourth inning on a two-out, two-run single from Eric Eymann for a 4-2 score.

Suns reliever Scott Elbert gave up two runs in the sixth inning, tying the game 4-4. After allowed two walks and a double with one out, Elbert left the game for Travis Schlichting who gave up a B.J. Szymanski two-run single for the deadlock.

Schlichting hit the next batter, but induced a strikeout and groundout to end the threat while starting a string of 14 consecutive outs that would end Chattanooga's night. Along with Schlichting, Brent Leach (W, 2-2) pitched two perfect innings before Jacobo Meque (Sv, 4) finished off the night to end the game.

Jacksonville took the lead against Chattanooga reliever Sean Watson (1-2) in the tenth inning, as Ivan DeJesus, Jr. scored on a sacrifice fly from Lucas May for a 5-4 advantage.

The Suns recorded only two hits, both from Ivan DeJesus, Jr., over the final seven innings, who finished the night four-for-five.

Suns LH Eric DuBose starts against Lookouts LH Travis Wood Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. ET in game two of the series. Live radio coverage is available in Jacksonville on WFXJ-AM 930 and online at jaxsuns.com.
