Mississippi Braves News Release
Pearl, MS -- The Mississippi Braves announce the 2009 regular season schedule. The Braves will open the season with a five-game series against the Carolina Mudcats at Trustmark Park from Thursday, April 9th through Monday, April 13th. The Braves will wrap up the 140-game schedule with a five-game series at Carolina from Wednesday, September 3rd through Monday, September 7th.
The Braves will play 11 home games during the month of April including the first game of the Braves first 10-game homestand on April 30th versus Montgomery. Half of May's games will be played at Trustmark Park as the M-Braves have 15 home games during the month.
Mississippi has 15 home games scheduled during June including 11 games against the Birmingham Barons. They'll be at home for the Fourth of July as part of 14 games at Trustmark Park during the month.
The Braves start August with the second five-game series in the final 10-game homestand of the year. They have 14 games at home during August and round out the home schedule with a match up against the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx on Tuesday, September 1st.
The first half of the 2009 Southern League season will come to an end on Sunday, June 21st. The league's all-star break will be from July 12th-14th when the Birmingham Barons will host the Southern League All-Star game.
