(Mobile, AL) August 18th- The West Tenn Diamond Jaxx used the long-ball and six shutout innings by right-hander Joe Woerman to blank the Mobile BayBears 4-0 in a rain shortened six inning game from Hank Aaron Stadium in Mobile, AL. The game was called with the Diamond Jaxx batting in the top of the seventh inning.

West Tenn hit three solo homers in the first inning off losing pitcher Adam Howard (7-7). Erick Monzon and Marshall Hubbard hit one out, back-to-back homers over the left field wall to give the Diamond Jaxx a 2-0 lead. One out later, Adam Moore connected on his twelfth home run of the season, giving the Diamond Jaxx a 3-0 lead. The Jaxx got their fourth home run of the night in the sixth inning when Greg Holman hit a tape measure bomb over the left-field wall. The Diamond Jaxx have hit ten homers over the last nineteen innings of play.

The run support was more than enough for Joe Woerman, who limited the BayBears to just two hits to pick up his first win with the Diamond Jaxx. Woerman (1-2) walked two, hit a batter and struck out one over six innings of work.

Game two of the five game series takes place on Tuesday night at 7:05 CDT. Righty Tracy Thorpe (1-0 2.08) will toe the rubber for the Diamond Jaxx. Mobile will counter with righty Matt Green (1-2 6.44).
