Hagerstown Suns News Release

Tonight's scheduled contest in Kannapolis, North Carolina between the Hagerstown Suns and Kannapolis Intimidators was postponed following a one hour, fifty minute rain delay. Rain began to fall during pre-game warm-ups, and the tarp was applied by the Intimidators field staff in preparation for the weather. The playing field at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium was deemed unplayable due to a large amount of sitting rainwater that collected on the diamond's surface.

The Suns and Intimidators will play a doubleheader on Sunday, August 8th, with the first standoff of the twin bill set for 2:05pm. Each game will last seven innings. The Suns will play Saturday night at the "Cannon," which will mark Game One of this five-game series in Kannapolis.

Saturday evening's ballgame will begin at 7:05pm, with the Hagerstown Suns Baseball Pre-game Show on the "Home of the Suns," WJEJ AM 1240 slated for 6:45pm.

The Hagerstown Suns play at Municipal Stadium in Hagerstown, MD and are a Class "A" affiliate of the Washington Nationals. Ticket packages and sponsorships are available by calling the Suns at 301-791-6266. Visit the Suns on the web at www.hagerstownsuns.com. The Suns are owned by Los Angeles based Mandalay Baseball Properties.
