Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp News Release
JACKSONVILLE, FL - The Florida Department of Transportation Safety Office has partnered with the Jacksonville Suns to encourage Suns fans to buckle up. Local law enforcement will be "ticketing" motorists and their passengers for wearing their seat belts in the "You have been ticketed" promotion.
The Suns have provided a local law enforcement agency with tickets to the Saturday, August 16 game versus Montgomery Biscuits and to the Saturday, August 23 game versus the Birmingham Barons to be distributed to Suns fans who are caught wearing their seat belt by participating law enforcement officials.
In addition on Saturday, August 16, the first 1,000 fans who pledge to wear their seat belt every trip, every time, day and night will receive a Suns buckle up logo baseball. The game starts at 1:05 PM and the gates open at 11:30 AM.
As an additional reminder for their fans the Suns have hung banners at the stadium exits reminding their fans to âbuckle up" and are making public address announcements remind fans the importance of wearing a seat belt every trip, every time, day and night because seat belts save lives.
The Suns are currently home through Thursday, July 3, facing the Carolina Mudcats. Tickets for the remainder of this homestand and all Suns home games are currently on sale through the Suns Box Office at (904) 358-2846, or online at www.jaxsuns.com.
