MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Jacksonville Suns (33-32) fell 2-1 in the finale of their five-game series against the Montgomery Biscuits (31-34) at Riverwalk Stadium on Monday night.

After being blanked for the first seven innings against Suns starter Joey O'Gara (4-4), the Biscuits scored their only runs in the bottom of the eighth on a two-RBI double for Tim Beckham to put Montgomery ahead 2-1, which would be the final score. O'Gara took the loss after tossing seven and two thirds innings while giving up two runs (one earned) on seven hits with a pair of walks and three strikeouts.

After Biscuits starter Shane Dyer threw seven innings only allowing a run on eight hits, Biscuits reliever Frank De Los Santos (1-5) took the win by throwing a scoreless eighth. Marquis Fleming struck out the side in the ninth to earn his second save of the year and preserve the Biscuits win, as Montgomery took four of five from Jacksonville.

Jim Negrych provided the only Suns run in the top of the second as he hit an RBI double to give the Suns a 1-0 lead that would remain until the bottom of the eighth. Negrych was the only Jacksonville batter with a multi-hit game as he went 2-4.

The Suns will have Tuesday off before beginning the final series of the first half on Wednesday against the Mississippi Braves at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. The Suns will start left-hander Darin Downs (1-5, 6.19 ERA) while the Braves will start right-hander Arodys Vizcaino (1-1, 4.50 ERA). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m., and fans can listen to the game beginning at 6:50 p.m. on with the U.F. & Shands Pregame Show on Jacksonville's WFXJ AM 930 the Fox and www.jaxsuns.com.
