Arizona Sundogs News Release

After a 2-0-1 start in the first three games of a six-game road trip, the Arizona Sundogs (8-9-3) move into a two-way tie for fifth place in the Berry Conference with the Laredo Bucks and sit just three points back of third-place Texas.

Looking to extend their road winning streak to four games in the first of six straight away from Tim's Toyota Center, the Arizona Sundogs fell 2-1 in a shootout to the Laredo Bucks Thursday night. The Sundogs held a 1-0 lead over the Bucks late in the contest before Daniel Koger tied the game at one with just over five minutes remaining in regulation. After a scoreless overtime in which Arizona outshot Laredo by a 6-1 margin, the Bucks' Jeff Bes was the lone skater to tally in the shootout, converting in the fourth round.

Trailing 3-2 after 40 minutes of play in the second of six straight away from home on Friday, Arizona responded with a pair of tallies in the third period to take the first of a two-game set against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees, 4-3.

The Sundogs scored a season-high seven goals and goaltender Levente Szuper turned away 38 of 39 shots in a 7-1 rout over the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees Saturday night at State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas. Darcy Campbell spoiled Szuper's shutout bid 6:58 into the third period, his team's lone goal coming on the power play. Arizona finished a combined plus-19 in the game with 13 of 16 skaters collecting at least a point in the win. Sides (2g/1a) and Butler (0g/3a) led the way for the Sundogs, each registering three points.

The Sundogs next take on the Odessa Jackalopes (8-12-1) Tuesday at 6:05pm (Arizona time). Listen to the game live online at www.cattlecountryradio.com and on KDDL 'Cattle Country' 94.3FM, the Official Radio Home of Arizona Sundogs Hockey. Arizona closes out its six-game road trip Friday (6:30pm Arizona time) against the Laredo Bucks and Saturday (6:30pm Arizona time) against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees.
