Oakley CHL Player of the Week Announced

TEMPE, AZ (December 6, 2010) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Mississippi forward Matt Summers has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Player of the Week for the period ending December 5, 2010. .

Summers had points in all three games for the RiverKings, totaling four goals, two assists and a +3 plus/minus rating. His team earned points in all three games posting a 2-0-1 record, the first three-game point streak for the ‚¬ËœKings this season. In Tuesday's 5-2 victory over Evansville, the Savage, Minnesota native assisted on a pair of goals including the game-tying strike late in the second period. On Friday, Summers tied the game at two goals apiece before the RiverKings ultimately lost in a shootout to Tulsa and then in the week's final game, Summers netted a hat trick and a +2 in Mississippi's 5-0 win over Wichita.

The 6-2, 195-pound forward is in his fourth pro season and currently leads the RiverKings in goals with 10 to go along with 15 points (10-5=15).
