Arizona Sundogs News Release

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Laredo Bucks ended the Arizona Sundogs' four-game winning streak with a 4-1 win Saturday night at Laredo Energy Arena in Laredo, Texas, closing to within five points of the Sundogs and seventh place in the Berry Conference.

Arizona trails sixth-place Odessa by a single point, sits two points back of fifth-place Mississippi and remains three points ahead of eighth-place Rio Grande Valley with five games remaining in the regular season.

Skating in their fourth game in five days, the Sundogs trailed 3-0 less than four minutes into the game on goals by Keegan Dansereau and Jeff Hazelwood.

Making his second start in net for Arizona, Michel Robinson was chased from the contest after allowing three goals on nine shots in just 3:21 of action.

Dansereau opened scoring for Laredo just 72 seconds into the game, tapping a Brian Matte feed through the slot past Robinson before Hazelwood stretched his club's lead to two 28 seconds later, shoveling a rebound into the back of the net.

Dansereau's second goal of the period at the 3:21 mark ended Robinson's night.

Craig Macdonald cut the Sundogs' deficit to two with a power-play goal at the opening frame's 5:44 mark, snapping a shot low past the glove of Torrie Jung. Joey Sides assisted on the play for his team-leading 11th point in as many games against Laredo this season.

Currently riding a three-game point streak (1g/2a), Macdonald now has eight points (1g/7a) through his last eight games.

Daniel Koger reclaimed a three-goal advantage for Laredo 38 seconds into the second period, slipping a shot five-hole past Levente Szuper for a 4-on-3 power-play marker.

Szuper finished with 27 saves on 28 shots in just over 56 minutes of relief action.

Tempers flared throughout the contest and boiled over in the game's final moments as multiple fights broke out compelling referee Jon McIsaac to end the game despite 5.6 seconds still showing on the game clock.

In all, 132 minutes in penalties were handed out amongst the two teams in the game's final 15 seconds.

Arizona (24-28-9) will close out the road portion of its 2010-11 regular season schedule Tuesday at 5:05pm (Arizona time) against Odessa (26-27-6). Listen to the game live online at www.cattlecountryradio.com and on KDDL ‘Cattle Country' 94.3FM, the Official Radio Home of Arizona Sundogs Hockey.
