Mississippi Rallies Past Mallards 4-2

MOLINE, IL - Brennan Sarazin and Matt Summers scored two goals apiece as the Mississippi River Kings rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat the host Quad City Mallards 4-2 Saturday night.

Sarazin scored what proved to be the game winner when he buried the puck from the slot to break a 2-2 tie at 4:23 of the third period. Summers stretched the gap to 4-2 when he blasted his second power play goal of the night from the left wing circle at 10:19 of the third.

The RiverKing rally started in the second period. Summers's point-blank man advantage goal cut the Quad City lead to 2-1 at 9:05 of the second. At 15:07, Sarazin scored the equalizer from the right wing circle.

The Mallards had started the second period with a bang when Zac Pearson walked in alone to stretch what had been a one-goal Quad City lead to 2-0 at the 1:18 mark.

Joel Gasper opened the scoring by burying a rebound at 10:54 of the first period.

The Mallards return to action on the road tomorrow 5:05 p.m. against the Wichita Thunder. The Mallards next play at home Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. against the Thunder. Thursday will be "Thirsty Thursday" as fans attending the Mallards' match-up with Wichita will be able to take advantage of discounts at i wireless Center concession stands to purchase $2 drafts and $2 soft drinks.
