
Summer of Nola Begins in Allentown

RHP Aaron Nola will make his highly anticipated Triple-A debut on Thursday night at Coca-Cola Park when the Lehigh Valley IronPigs host the Buffalo Bisons in the finale of a four-game set at 7:05 p.m. The LSU product is ranked by Baseball America as the top pitching prospect in the Phillies organization and the No. 2 overall prospect.
Nola went 7-3 with a 1.88 ERA in 12 GS with Reading (AA) this season. Last time out, the right-hander got a no-decision on Saturday vs. Akron when he gave up two runs on five hits to go along with a walk and five strikeouts over five innings of work. Left-handed hitters hit just .188 (22-117) against Nola this season during his time with Reading. The Baton Rouge, La. native was the 7th overall pick in the 2014 MLB First Year Player Draft.
LHP Daniel Norris (1-5, 3.45)-the No. 1 prospect in the TOR system according to BA-gets the ball for the Bisons in the series finale. On Saturday vs. Charlotte, Norris received a no-decision after surrendering four runs (two earned) on seven hits while walking three and fanning six in 4.0 IP. The southpaw has struck out 44 batters in 44.1 IP this season with Buffalo.
The first 3,000 fans 18 and older in attendance for Nola's debut on Thursday night will receive an IronPigs Ice Cream Scoop presented by Air Products. There is also a pregame Happy Hour from 5-6 p.m. in the AT&T Plaza.
