RHP Scott Carroll Recalled to Chicago Thursday

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) - RHP Scott Carroll, who posted a 3-2 record with a 2.37 ERA in six starts for the Charlotte Knights this season, was recalled to Chicago today as announced by the White Sox. Carroll will take the roster spot of RHP Hector Noesi, who was designated for assignment by the White Sox today. Noesi went 0-4 with a 6.89 ERA in 10 games (five starts) for the White Sox this season.

Today's promotion to Chicago is the second of the season for Carroll, who had his contract purchased by the White Sox on April 26. In eight games out of Chicago's bullpen this year, Carroll, 30, is 1-1 with a 3.12 ERA (17.1 innings pitched).

A native of Kansas City, MO, Carroll started last season with the Knights and went 3-1 with a 1.57 ERA in four starts. He had his contract purchased on April 27, 2014 and appeared in 26 games (19 starts) with the White Sox in 2014. The Missouri State University product went 5-10 with a 4.80 ERA in 129.1 innings last season for the White Sox.

The Knights continue their six-game homestand tonight at 7:05 p.m. with the finale of their three-game series against the Pawtucket Red Sox (Triple-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox).
