Vermont Lake Monsters News Release
BURLINGTON, VT - SUBWAY© restaurants announced today that it has partnered with the Vermont Lake Monsters, a minor-league baseball affiliate of Major League Baseball's Oakland A's, and together they have created a Labor Day Getaway to San Francisco promotion. Local radio station WWMP 103.3 FM will be running the contest through its official Facebook page (MP103). The contest runs from Monday, July 18, through Friday, July 29.
WWMP will randomly select on Friday, July 29, 103 qualifying finalists who will be invited to attend the July 30 Lake Monsters baseball game at Centennial Field in South Burlington. The winner of the SUBWAY© Labor Day Getaway will be randomly selected and announced during the game.
"We're thrilled to once again partner with the Vermont Lake Monsters," said Steve Forbes, a SUBWAY© restaurants franchisee. "Creating the Labor Day Getaway to San Francisco was a team collaboration on the part of SUBWAY© restaurants and the Lake Monsters and we're eager to announce the winner during SUBWAY© Night at the Ballpark on July 30."
The winner and a guest will each receive round-trip airfare from Burlington to California's Bay Area and they'll stay for three nights, September 2-4, in San Francisco. Tickets to an Oakland A's baseball game on Sunday, September 4, will be provided, as well as an Oakland A's baseball jersey of the winner's choice. They'll also have the opportunity to be on the field during pre-game batting practice and will receive a $500 Visa Gift Card as "fun money".
In addition to announcing the Grand Prize winner on July 30, SUBWAY© restaurants will also be hosting a post-game fireworks show at Centennial. It's the fields only approved fireworks show of the year. Michael Boisjoli, another local SUBWAY© restaurants franchisee, is in charge of pyrotechnics and will be heading up the show.
Along with the Labor Day Getaway and the annual fireworks show, SUBWAY© restaurants will also provide lunch for 140 children and staff at a two-day youth instructional baseball clinic hosted by the Lake Monsters on Saturday, July 23, and Sunday, July 24.
