
Strong Third Period Performance Helps Tigers Take It 4-1

Medicine Hat, AB - The Medicine Hat Tigers swept the Swift Current Broncos in this week's home and home series after defeating the Broncos 4-1 Friday night.
After falling behind 1-0 in the first period, the Tigers responded with four unanswered goals to win the game.
Eric Houk opened the scoring for the home team with less than five minutes remaining in the opening frame to give Swift Current the early 1-0 lead.
Late in the middle stanza, Bryan Lockner fired the puck top shelf to score his ninth goal of the season and bring the game to a 1-1 stalemate. Lockner's goal was assisted by Nick McCarry.
Just under 10 minutes into the final period, Ryan Chyzowski scored the game winning goal to make it 2-1 on a play from Jonathan Brinkman.
Less than two minutes later, Lukas Svejkovsky set up Captain James Hamblin to score his 30th goal of the season.
With just over four minutes remaining in the game, Brett Kemp combined with Brinkman to set up Parker Gavlas to score his second goal of the season and make it 4-1 for the Tabbies.
Rookie goaltender Garin Bjorklund turned aside 23 of 24 shots in the Tigers' victory while Broncos' netminder Isaac Poulter allowed four goals on 39 shots faced.
Medicine Hat is now 32-14-1-1 and they will host the Brandon Wheat Kings Saturday night at the Canalta Centre.
