Regina, SK - The Victoria Royals dropped a 5-4 decision, in a shootout, to the Regina Pats on Friday night at the Brandt Centre.

Notes

Shootouts: After tonight's contest, Victoria is now 4-1 in games that end in a shootout this season. The club's leading scorers in shootouts are Tarun Fizer and Kaid Oliver, who have both tallied a pair of goals.

First Goal: In tonight's contest, Royals' forward Alex Bolshakov recorded his first career WHL goal. Bolshakov was selected in the fourth round (69th overall) in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft by Victoria and has played 29 career games with the club.

Multi-Goal Games: This season, when a Royals' player has scored multiple goals in a single game the club is now 9-0-1-1. Prior to tonight, the team's last multi-goal game was recorded by Tarun Fizer when he scored a hat-trick in a 6-1 over the Tri-City Americans on January 15th.

Lighting the Lamp: Royals' forward Gary Haden has posted a goal in five of his last six games. Over that span, the 20-year-old has recorded seven points (5g-2a). Haden also leads Victoria in scoring in the month of January with 13 points (5g-8a) in 15 games.

Regina Ties: Royals' head coach Dan Price was a scout for the Regina Pats from 2003-06. During his time with the Pats, the club drafted current New York Islanders' forward Jordan Eberle in the seventh round, 126th overall, in the 2005 WHL Bantam Draft. Price, a former junior hockey goaltender, also concluded his playing career at the University of Regina in 1998.

300th Game: Regina forward Austin Pratt played in his 300th career game tonight. Over the length of his career, the Lakeville, MN native has recorded 159 points (71g-88a) split between Regina and the Red Deer Rebels.

Next Game: Victoria concludes their six-game road trip tomorrow night against the Moose Jaw Warriors. Puck drop is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. PST.
