Heading to Huntsville for the holiday weekend, the Lookouts will trot out Zach Lee tonight at 6:43 Eastern in hopes of keep their run of quality starts alive.
Stripling (7-1 overall, 5-1 with the Lookouts), worked deeper into a game that at any time during the 2013 season. The right-hander out of Texas A&M walked no one and allowed only a leadoff single to Kevin Kiermaier in the first and a Hector Guevara double with one out in the sixth. In between, he recorded 16 straight outs, beginning with a double play.
The Lookouts wasted no time staking Stripling to a lead, In the first, Angelo Songco brought home a run on a ground ball, and it grew to 2-0 in the second on a Miguel Rojas RBI double.
That lead stood until the fifth, when a bases loaded single by Bobby Coyle brought in a pair of runs. A Songco sacrifice fly in the sixth padded the margin to 5-0.
For the Lookouts, the heart of their order -- Pederson, Brian Cavazos-Galvez and newcomer Sean Burroughs -- had two hits apiece Friday, with Burroughs getting a double as part of his night. Pederson, average back up to .304, also had a stolen base Friday.
