Jackson Generals News Release

KODAK, Tenn. (June 28, 2013) - The Generals and Smokies made it to the bottom of the second inning Friday when rain hit Smokies Park in game one of the doubleheader. After a 2 hour rain delay the game was suspended with Tennessee leading 2-1 with one on and one out in the bottom of the second inning. Game two of the doubleheader has been postponed.

The two teams will not meet again at Smokies Park this season so the game cannot be completed until the Smokies visit Jackson July 10-14 at The Ballpark in Jackson. The dates for making up the two games will be announced at a later date.

The Generals return home Saturday to begin a five-game series against the Birmingham Barons, with first pitch slated for 6:05 p.m. LHP Anthony Fernandez (4-3, 5.55) will start for the Generals against LHP Scott Snodgress (8-6, 4.78). Saturday there will be a Postgame Fireworks Extravaganza, presented by Leaders Credit Union. The game can be heard on 96.5 ESPN Radio, TuneIn Radio App. and jacksongeneralsbaseball.com.
