OF Andreoli Led the Florida State League With 84 Hits and Six Triples

KODAK, Tenn. - The Tennessee Smokies, Double-A minor league affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, announced this afternoon that OF John Andreoli has been added to the team's active roster. Andreoli will be available for today's doubleheader that begins at 5:00 p.m. at Smokies Park.

The Smokies roster is set at 25 active players, which is the Southern League maximum.

Andreoli joins the Smokies for the first time in his career. He began the 2013 season with the High-A Daytona Cubs where he held a .318 batting average (84-for-264) with 11 doubles, six triples and 25 RBIs. The 23-year-old outfielder led the Florida State league with 84 hits and six triples and ranked third with 23 stolen bases. In 2012 with the D-Cubs, Andreoli led the FSL with 55 stolen bases and 75 walks. The Shrewsbury, Mass. native was selected by the Cubs in the 17th round of the 2011 draft out of the University of Connecticut.
