Stretch Answers AHL Call

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, back-to-back, Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, announced that star center C.J. Stretch has been called up to American Hockey League.

Stretch, 23, finished the 2012-13 regular season with 62 points (28g, 34a) in 60 games for the Reign. In the first two post-season games, Stretch scored five goals breaking the Reign's record for most goals in a single game with four on April 3 in a 7-2 win over the Grizzlies. He also scored the first goal of the series on April 2 in a 5-2 win over the Grizzlies.

Through four, first-round games, Stretch recorded five points, all goals, and finished the series with a +7.

The Oklahoma City Barons first reached out to Stretch in February for a ten game stint in the AHL. In his first game, Stretch scored the game-winning goal for the Barons - his first career AHL goal. The Irvine, Calif. native would add three more goals to his total, and two assists for six points.

Reign Drops:

The Reign made history last weekend advancing past the first round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs with a 4-0 series sweep over the Utah Grizzlies. Ontario will play either the Colorado Eagles or the Idaho Steelheads at home to start the second round. The first game is scheduled for Friday, April 19 at Citizens Business Bank Arena. If necessary, the second round will return back to Citizens Business Bank Arena to play Game 6 and 7 on Tuesday, April 30, and Wednesday, May 1, respectively.
