Sacramento River Cats News Release

LAS VEGAS - Dan Straily was dominant again on Tuesday night at Cashman Field, striking out seven and allowing just one run in seven innings, lifting the River Cats to their sixth-straight win, a 2-1 triumph over the Las Vegas 51s.

After averaging 15 runs per game in their series at Aces Ballpark, the Sacramento River Cats won a pitchers' duel in the series opener at Cashman Field. Straily (2-0) scattered four hits and walked just a single batter, improving to 2-0 in his second Triple-A start of the season. Travis Banwart and Pedro Figueroa had scoreless outings in relief, setting up Dan Otero for his second save of the season.

The top of the River Cats order provided all of the offense they would need, as the top three batters in the order combined for nine of Sacramento's 11 hits. Grant Green paced the offense with four hits, scoring the go-ahead run on a Michael Choice single in the seventh inning. Jemile Weeks added three hits and a run scored out of the leadoff spot.

Gonzalez Germen (1-1) suffered the defeat for Las Vegas, allowing the eventual game-winning run in the seventh.

Choice's RBI was his team-leading 16th of the season, while Stephen Vogt continued his hot hitting as well. Vogt picked up two more hits, giving him multi-hit games in six of the seven contests in which he's played. He is now hitting .543 on the young season.

Sacramento and Las Vegas do battle again Wednesday, with lefty Justin Thomas (0-1, 4.32 ERA) taking the ball against 51s right-hander Carlos Torres (0-1, 5.19 ERA). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. from Cashman Field in Las Vegas.

The River Cats return home on April 20 for an eight-game homestand against the Reno Aces and Salt Lake Bees.
