
Aces Walk-Off over Sky Sox, 8-7

RENO, Nev.-The Reno Aces earned their first walk-off victory of the season on Wednesday afternoon, with an 8-7 win over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox.
With the bases loaded and one out, Matt Davidson's two-RBI single propelled the Aces over the Sky Sox. Reno overcame a 7-0 deficit, tying the record for the largest deficit overcome in Aces franchise history.
Colorado Springs peppered the scoreboard with runs through the middle innings. Corey Dickerson put the Sky Sox on the board in the third with a solo shot to right field. Dallas Tartleton drove in a run in the fourth, and a pair of sacrifice flies in the fifth extended the Sky Sox lead to 4-0.
With two outs in the top of the seventh, Colorado Springs pushed across three runs off Reno reliever Eddie Bonine. Nolan Arenado followed an RBI single by Charlie Blackmon with his third home run of the season, giving the Sky Sox a 7-0 lead.
Chris Owings broke the Sky Sox shutout bid in the seventh with his first Triple-A homer to lead off the bottom of the frame.
Reno pushed across three more runs in the bottom of the eighth to come within three, down 7-4. Mark Teahen had a chance to tie things up with runners at first and second, but he popped out to end the inning.
RHP Evan Marshall earned his first win of the season. Marshall gave up only one hit in the ninth, an d did not allow a run.
RHP Mike McClendon was charged with a blown save and the loss. He gave up three earned runs on three hits.
The Aces will look to secure their first series win against the Sky Sox in game three of the series on Thursday. LHP Tyler Skaggs (1-1, 9.72 ERA) gets the nod for Reno, while Colorado Springs will counter with LHP Drew Pomeranz (1-0, 5.06 ERA). First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. PT. Tomorrow will be highlighted by Coors Light Thirsty Thursdays(tm) presented by New West Distributing, ESPN Radio 94.5 FM and Reno News & Review. Fans will be able to enjoy $2 beer specials through the middle of the fifth inning.
