Billy Buckner's seven shutout innings paced the Salt Lake Bees to a 4-0 victory over the Tucson Padres Tuesday at Kino Stadium.
After three scoreless innings to start the game, Chris Snyder's towering home run over the left field wall put the Bees up 1-0. Salt Lake had an opportunity to score in the fifth on a sacrifice fly attempt to left field, but Brandon Allen threw out Jimmy Swift at the plate. The Bees added to their lead in the seventh with three runs on four hits, including an RBI double from Snyder.
Buckner earned his second win of the season, scattering five hits and one walk while striking out eight. The righthander set down 13 straight hitters between the second and sixth innings. Tim Stauffer made his best start of the season for Tucson, going six innings, allowing six hits, four walks and one run.
