The Storm picked up three of a possible six points this week with a loss to the Niagara IceDogs on Thursday, a victory over the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors on Saturday and an overtime loss to the Brampton Battalion on Sunday afternoon at the Powerade Centre. J.P Labardo picked up his first OHL goal, the game winner, against the Majors in Saturday's victory. Travis Gibbons, Matt Kennedy and Peter Holland scored for the Storm this past weekend while Luke Pither and Brandon Buck each scored twice. With three points, the Storm currently sit second in the Western Conference with 24 points and a record of 11-6-1-1.Brandon Buck Grand & Toy Player of the Week (week ending November 2nd)- Buck was the highest Storm point getter this week picking up two goals and two assists in three games played. Kept off the scoreboard against the Niagara IceDogs on Thursday, Buck scored the ever important insurance marker in the empty net on Saturday in Mississauga to help lift his team to a 3-1 win over the St. Michael's Majors. Sunday in Brampton, the Delaware native was named the second star of the game recording two assists and the Storm's first short handed marker of the season in the 5-4 overtime loss to the Battalion.Â
Buck is currently tied for third in scoring on the Storm with 17 points (six goals and 11 assists), leads the team in short handed goals and is second in plus/minus with a rating of +9. Friday, November 7th : Plymouth Whalers at Guelph Storm, 7:30 pm
On Friday night, the Plymouth Whalers enter the eye of the Storm for their first of two visits this year. The Storm traveled to Plymouth early in the season on September 27th defeating the Whalers in front of their home crowd by a score of 5-3. Matt Kennedy, Peter Holland and Luke Pither all scored for the Storm while Tim Priamo led the way with two. The next match-up between these two teams takes place on December 12th at the Sleeman Centre. The regular season series will be concluded a couple weeks later on January 3rd when the Storm travel to Plymouth for a 7:05 pm start. With a record of 6-8-2-0 the Whalers sit at the bottom of the Western Conference with 14 points.
Sunday, November 9th :Â Kingston Frontenacs at Guelph Storm, 2:00 pm
Sunday afternoon the Storm host the Kingston Frontenacs for the first and only time this season. These two teams met once before this season in Kingston during the Storm's Eastern Swing in early October. Scoring the tieing goal with less than a minute remaining in regulation, second year forward Peter Holland was the hero- forcing the extra frame only to score with less than five minutes in to lift his team over the Fronts and pick up the two points. Kingston currently sits last in the Eastern Conference with a record of 4-10-4-0 and 12 points.
Pre-game Remembrance Week ceremony
Prior to Sunday's game, the Colour Guard from Royal Canadian Legion Branch 234 Sir John McCrae Branch (please check the information re the Legion) will conduct a brief ceremony honouring those that lost their lives serving Canada.ADT Canada/Russia Promotions
CJOY/Magic FM - "You Call the Play Canada vs. Russia"
Date: November 3rd to November 14th (Monday - Friday)
Each morning (Magic 8:45am, CJOY 7:45am) we will have 2 listeners call in (on the air at the same time) to "Call the Play" eg. 1st caller will be asked to choose how the Canada Russia clip will end (eg. Goal or Big Save). If the 1st caller picks the correct answer they win a pair of tickets and if they are wrong the 2nd caller wins a pair of tickets to the Canada vs. Russia game on November 20th.

Casey's Bar & Grill (494 Edinburgh Road South) will host this event on Monday, November 10th starting at 6:00pm. Tickets can be purchased at the Guelph Storm table behind section 115 at every Storm home game or by visiting the Guelph Storm Box Office in the Old Quebec Street Mall. Guelph Storm Performers of the Month-October
Thomas McCollum-Guelph Storm Goaltender of the Month and nominee for OHL Goaltender of the Month
McCollum was named the Guelph Storm's Goaltender of the Month after posting a 5-5-0-1record, along with a 2.40 goals against average and 0.916 save percentage in 11 games played. The 18-year old netminder also picked up two second star honours for his play during the month of October. As of November 1st, the Sanborn New York native has a record of 9-5-1-0, a goals against average of 2.40 and a save percentage of 0.922.
McCollum is currently ranked 4th in the OHL in save percentage and 6th in both goals against average and wins.
Cody McNaughton-Guelph Storm Rookie of the Month and nominee for OHL Rookie of the Month
McNaughton was named the Guelph Storm's Rookie of the Month after scoring seven points and putting up a plus minus of +4 during the month of October. The 16 year old forward scored five goals and added two assists for seven points in 13 games. The Petawawa native also picked up a second and third star honour for his play during the month of October,
McNaughton recorded his first multiple goal game in October in the Storm's 3-2 loss to the Kitchener Rangers. As of November 1st McNaughton has 5 goals, 4 assists and a plus minus rating of +6 to lead all Storm rookies in scoring with 9 points.
Nathan Martine- Guelph Storm Defenceman of the Month, Performer of the Month and nominee for OHL Defenceman of the Month and Performer of the Month
Martine was named the Guelph Storm's defenceman of the month after posting a plus/minus rating of +7 throughout the month of October. The 20 year old had an even or plus rating in every game except one where he was a minus one.
Martine is currently ranked 9th overall in league plus/minus with a +12 rating.
Peter Holland- Guelph Storm Performer of the Month and nominee for OHL Performer of the Month
Holland was named the Guelph Storm's performer of the month after recording 15 points and a plus/minus rating of +8 during October. The Caledon native scored seven goals and had eight assists in 13 games played throughout the month.
Holland was also awarded with a first, second and third star honour for his play throughout the month. As of November 1st, Holland has 10 goals and 11 even assists for 21 points and is currently ranked 8th in league plus/minus with a rating of +12.
