Tri-City Storm News Release
URBANDALE, IA - The Tri-City Storm is ready for back-to-back road games this weekend against the Des Moines Buccaneers at Buccaneer Arena following last weekend's two-game sweep of the Sioux Falls Stampede at the Viaero Center. Tri-City will battle Des Moines tonight and tomorrow night on the road, before returning home to play five consecutive games in Kearney against Sioux City and Fargo. Puck drop for tonight's game is scheduled for 7:00pm CT.
The Tri-City Storm is currently conducting an auction of specialty jerseys from the first three theme nights of the season, including Military Appreciation Night, Concrete Cares Night, and First Responders Night. Jerseys available for auction are from current and former Storm players. The online auction ends this evening at 5:00pm CT. More information about the auction can be found at www.StormHockey.com.
Tri-City (24-16-2-3) has produced the second-best record over the last ten games of any team in the USHL following Saturday's 7-1 home win over the Sioux Falls Stampede. The Storm is 8-1-1-0 over the past ten games, and currently rides a seven-game point streak entering tonight's road game at Buccaneer Arena. Trevor Connelly tied the organization's all-time record on Saturday for most consecutive games with a goal (7). A goal for Connelly in tonight's game would break a tie with teammate Evan Werner for the longest goal streak by a single player in the Storm's twenty-three-year history. Scoring leaders for Tri-City entering this weekend's road series against Des Moines include Jake Richard (24), Evan Werner (15), Trevor Connelly (15), Graham Gamache (14), August Falloon (12), Kieran Cebrian (11), and Tanner Adams (11). The Storm is 1-1-0-1 in three previous matchups against the Buccaneers this season.
Des Moines (18-20-5-3) split a home-and-home series last weekend against the Dubuque Fighting Saints. The Buccaneers most recently dropped a 4-1 decision on Saturday to the Fighting Saints. Lubomir Kupco netted the team's lone goal during the contest. Des Moines has posted a 5-4-1-0 record over the last ten games entering tonight's home game against Tri-City. Scoring leaders for the Buccaneers through forty-six games include Joey Muldowney (15), Lubomir Kupco (13), Jak Vaarwerk (11), Henry Bartle (10), Christian Kocsis (8), and Talon Sigurdson (7). Des Moines currently holds a one point lead over the Sioux Falls Stampede for the 6th and final playoff spot in the USHL's Western Conference standings. The Buccaneers hold a 14-7-1-1 record on home ice this season.
Tonight's game is set to begin at 7:00pm CT and will be streamed on FloHockey, and Storm Radio. Tickets to future home games at the Viaero Center may be purchased online by skating to www.StormHockey.com, or by calling the Viaero Center Box Office during Box Office hours at 308-338-8144. #StormAhead
