Storm Defeats Buccaneers on Last-Minute Goal

URBANDALE, IA. - The Tri-City Storm erased a three-goal deficit, and scored a last-minute goal to defeat the Des Moines Buccaneers by a final score of 5-4 Friday night at Buccaneer Arena. Graham Gamache netted two third period goals, including the game-winning goal in the final minute of the 3rd period to seal Tri-City's road victory. Jake Richard, Kieran Cebrian, and Dane Dowiak also scored a goal in the victory. Patriks Bçrziòð backstopped Tri-City to win in net after stopping 21 of Des Moines' 25 shots on goal. The Storm has now won a season-high seven consecutive games, and the team has pushed its season-high point streak to eight straight games. The rematch of tonight's thriller at Buccaneer Arena is set for 6:00pm CT tomorrow.

Talon Sigurdson scored the lone goal of Friday's 1st period on the powerplay to give the Buccaneers a 1-0 lead. The goal was netted at 11:28 of the period, and was assisted by Michael Bevilacqua and Jak Vaarwerk. Des Moines outshot Tri-City 11-8 in the 1st period, and carried a one-goal lead into the 2nd period.

Jack Reimann scored his sixth goal of the year just over one minute into Friday's 2nd period to give the Buccaneers a 2-0 lead in the matchup. Henry Bartle and Aiden Van Rooyan each notched an assist on the scoring play. Des Moines netted another goal at 8:14 of the middle period to take a commanding three-goal lead in the battle. Aiden Van Rooyan netted his second goal of the season on the play. Chase Ramsay and Jak Vaarwerk each collected an assist on the goal. Jake Richard put Tri-City on the scoreboard at 11:17 of the 2nd period. The goal was his team-leading twenty-fifth of the year, and was scored on the powerplay. Trevor Connelly notched an assist on the scoring play. Kieran Cebrian scored the Storm's second powerplay goal of the period minutes later to bring the game to a 3-2 score. Cebrian's goal was his twelfth of the year, and was netted at 15:56 of the middle period. Trevor Connelly and Seth Constance each notched an assist on the scoring play. Tri-City heavily outshot Des Moines 15-5 in the 2nd period, but trailed by a goal entering Friday's 3rd period.

After killing off consecutive powerplays for the Buccaneers, Tri-City netted a shorthanded goal at 8:34 of the 3rd period to tie the game at 3-3. The goal was scored by Graham Gamache, and was his fifteenth of the year. Dane Dowiak netted his eighth goal of the season at 13:02 of the final period to give the Storm its first lead in the matchup. Trevor Connelly recorded his third assist of the game on the scoring play. Des Moines answered with a powerplay goal scored by Gustav Stjernberg at 15:44 of the 3rd period. The goal was his sixth of the season, and was assisted by Owen West and Lubomir Kupco. Graham Gamache scored his second goal of the night, and sixteenth goal of the season with thirty-five seconds remaining in the 3rd period to give Tri-City a 5-4 lead. Tanner Adams notched an assist on the scoring play. Each team recorded nine shots on goal during the 3rd period, and the Storm captured a come-from-behind victory Friday night at Buccaneer Arena. Tri-City outshot Des Moines by an overall margin of 32-25 during the contest.

Patriks Bçrziòð notched the win in net for Tri-City after turning away 21 of Des Moines' 25 shots on net. Max Lundgren dropped the game in goal for the Buccaneers after making 27 saves on 32 shots.

The Storm improved to 25-16-2-3 in the victory, and will seeks its eighth consecutive win in tomorrow's matchup.
