
Storm Host Force in Back to Back Games at Viaero Center

Kearney, NE. - The Tri-City Storm return to action tonight at the Viaero Center following a thrilling 3-2 (OT) win over the Lincoln Stars in the 2020-2021 Home Opener last Saturday night. Tonight's opponent is the undefeated Fargo Force. Tickets are available but extremely limited for tonight's game. Fans are encouraged to purchase in advance at www.StormHockey.com or by calling the Viaero Center Box Office at 308-338-8144. Puck drop for tonight's showdown between the Storm and the Force is set for 7:05pm.
Tri-City (2-1-0-0) heavily outshot the Lincoln Stars last Saturday night 35-9 but required overtime to record the victory in the 2020-2021 Home Opener at the Viaero Center. After Morgan Winters netted his first Career USHL Goal in the 2nd period, and Carter Mazur scored his second goal of the season in the 2nd period, Victor Czerneckianair netted the game-winning goal thirty-seven seconds into overtime to give the Storm the win. The goal was Czerneckianair's first of his USHL career. Parker Lindauer and Caden Villegas recorded assists on Morgan Winter's goal. Kyle Aucoin recorded the lone assist on Carter Mazur's goal, and Vinny Borgesi recorded the only assist on Czerneckianair's overtime goal. Todd Scott made 7 saves on 9 shots to record the win in net for Tri-City. The Storm outshot Lincoln 15-1 in the 2nd period and came close to tying a team record. Twice in team history, Tri-City has not allowed a single shot on goal in a single period (@ Green Bay January 26th, 2007 & vs. Des Moines November 17th, 2017).
Fargo (2-0-0-0) enters tonight's game averaging five goals scored per game after a 5-3 defeat of the Sioux Falls Stampede in the Season Opener on Friday, November 13th and a 5-0 road shutout of the Stampede on Saturday, November 14th. No team in the Western Conference has scored more goals this season than the Force (10), and of teams who have played multiple games so far this year, no team has allowed fewer goals than the Force (3). Brennan Boynton posted a shutout in net Saturday night following Andrew Miller's win in the Home Opener on Friday. Austin Wong (2), Ryan Richardson (2), Tyler Rollwagen (2), Mason Salquist, Jacob Braccini, Matthew Crasa, and Jeremy Davidson have all scored goals for Fargo this season. Fargo finished the 2019-2020 regular season in 2nd place in the Western Conference standings with a final record of 27-15-4-2.
A limited amount of tickets are available for tonight's game against Fargo and tomorrow's game against Fargo. Seating capacity at the Viaero Center will be limited to 25% for both home games this weekend. Fans wishing to attend the games are strongly encouraged to purchased tickets online or at the Viaero Center Box Office prior to each game. Masks are required to enter the arena, while walking on the concourse, in the restrooms, and while in line at the concession stands. Although masks are not required once you are sitting down in the seats, the Tri-City Storm & the Viaero Center strongly recommend masks are worn while seated. $5 Kids Tickets are available with the purchase of an adult ticket. Drink specials at the game will include; $2 Busch Light 16oz cans, $2 bottles of Coca-Cola, Diet Coca-Cola, and Water.
