SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Omaha Lancers fell by a final score of 4-2 on Friday night against the Sioux Falls Stampede.
The Stampede struck first with Micheal Citara (4:55) scoring on Jakub Dobes in the first period. The Lancers answered back when Jack Jensen (7:04) netted the puck past between the legs of Trent Burnham to even the game 1-1.
In the second frame, and on the power-play, Ryan Lautenbach (6:34) scored to get the Lancers their first and only lead of the night 2-1.
In the third period, the Stampede evened the game 2-2 when Reid Pabich (4:11) on the power-play. The Stampede kept their foot on the gas scoring again in the dying minutes of the game at 18:54 to get ahead of Omaha 3-2. As a last-ditch effort, the Lancers pulled Jakub Dobes for the extra attacker, but the Stampede would capitalize scoring on the empty to take the win 4-2.
The Lancers and Stampede are back in action on Saturday night at 7:05 PM. All the action is on MixLR and Hockeytv.
