Toledo Walleye News Release

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm of the ECHL today announced that 97.3 The Fox WJZE is the new radio home of Toledo Storm hockey. 97.3 The Fox will carry all seventy-two regular season and playoff games for the 2003 - 04 campaign. 97.3 The Fox is a classic hits station with a target demo of men 25-49. Matt Melzak will handle all of the play-by-play duties.

Mike Miller, Vice President and General Manager of the Toledo Storm, had this to say on the change “We are very excited to have 97.3 the fox as the new radio home for Toledo Storm hockey. This will allow our great fans in the local and surrounding areas to listen to all our games, home and away. I know that everyone involved is very pleased with the move and this works out great for both parties.

Bill Clark, Director of Sales for Clear Channel Toledo, added ”Clear Channel ’s desire to put the Storm on the Fox comes from a trend to have more sports programming on FM stations. The format is a very male driven, which is the same as any sports radio station. The signal and clarity allows the game broadcasts to sound better than they have in the past. This is just a really good deal.

The Coach Steve Harrison show, which appeared on AM 1230 WCWA last season, will remain on AM 1230 WCWA with a time and location yet to be determined.
