Big Buddy Program Reaches Out to Upstate Youth

GREENVILLE, SC â The Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL have announced the creation of the "BIG BUDDY" Program, and will target attendance for opening night. Businesses and individuals can provide a ticket package to Upstate non-profit youth organizations for opening night, Friday, October 24th.
The "BIG BUDDY" program is a result of a desire by the Greenville Grrrowl to bring the business community and youth together to offer a memorable evening for those who may not have a chance to experience professional hockey, and a way for businesses and individuals to provide a great service to the Upstate youth. The Grrrowl will distribute the tickets to organizations one week prior to the game.
"The Grrrowl are proud to offer this great opportunity for children who may not ordinarily enjoy a professional hockey game", stated Mitch Mann, VP of Ticket Sales. "The response to this program has been well-received, and we look forward to being able to bring as many children to this game as possible.
The program provides benefits to both businesses and individuals, and provides a unique opportunity for the ticket recipient. The ticket holder receives a lower-bowl ticket, a Carolina Pride hot dog, animal crackers, a Pepsi, and a special gift. The participating sponsor receives a listing in the Grrrowl Scorecard on opening night, inclusion in a public address announcement on opening night, a listing on the in-house matrix board and two (2) tickets to a future Grrrowl game. Each ticket costs $10.00, and must be reserved in advance. The Grrrowl have distributed information in a direct mail piece, and are contacting businesses via phone, fax and e-mail.

The Grrrowl have released the 2003-04 schedule, including "Opening Night presented by Verizon Wireless, on October 24th against the Charlotte Checkers at 7:05 PM. Greenville Grrrowl season tickets, mini-plans and flex packs are on sale now. Single game tickets will be on sale as of October 10, 2003.
