Aces Finalize 2003-04 Training Camp

Anchorage, Alaska â The Alaska Aces professional hockey will have an extra week of practice along with two exhibition games as they prepare for their 2003-04 ECHL debut against Fresno at Sullivan Arena October 24.
The Aces will first take the ice in an official practice, Sunday, October 5 at 3:00 p.m. in the Tesoro Sports Centre. Alaska will have a two-hour practice the next morning (9:00 a.m.) at Tesoro before moving to Ben Boeke Arena for 9:00 a.m. practices Tuesday and Wednesday. The Aces should be ready to practice on their home ice at Sullivan Arena beginning Thursday, October 9 at 10:30 a.m. in addition to the regular 10:00 a.m. pre-game skates before the exhibition contests against the Trenton Titans October 10-11. Head coach Davis Payne estimates that 33 players will be invited to this year's camp. Of course, all practice sessions are FREE and open to the public.
After an off day on Sunday following the games with Trenton, the Aces return to Sullivan Arena for two-hour practices Monday through Wednesday, October 13-15. Two scrimmages have been scheduled for October 17-18, while the rest of the ECHL competition opens the regular season. Alaska will continue to practice at Sullivan Arena for two hours each October 20-22 and in Eagle River October 23 prior to the season opener against the Falcons.
