
Storm drop Buc Bowl opener

KEARNEY - The Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League fell to Green Bay on Thursday 5-2 in both teams' first game of the 2006 Buc Bowl tournament.
The Storm, who will play three games in three days in Des Moines, Iowa, will be back in action on Friday at noon against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. Cedar Rapids defeated the Omaha Lancers 6-5 in a shootout Thursday.
Scoring goals for the Storm against Green Bay were forwards Michael Pilot and Matt Ambroz. Pilot scored a power-play goal in the second period to cut Green Bay's lead to 2-1. Ambroz's goal early in the third period made it 3-2, but two late Green Bay goals completed the scoring.
Goaltender Ian Keserich and Justin Lincoln split time in net on Thursday. Keserich allowed one goal in nearly 30 minutes and Lincoln allowed four goals.
