PAPILLION, Neb. - Thanks to a pair of three-run innings, the Omaha Storm Chasers topped the Nashville Sounds on Monday night, 6-3. The win is the Chasers ninth in a row at Werner Park and pushes their overall record to 14-5.

Southpaw Ryan Verdugo (2-0) notched his second win of the season as he went five innings against Nashville (4-15) and allowed a lone run to score. Brandon Sisk worked the final inning and a third to earn his second save of the year.

Offensively, the Storm Chasers pieced together 13 hits. Second baseman Johnny Giavotella and right fielder Irving Falu each contributed with two runs batted in.

Catcher Max Ramirez singled to start the second and advanced to third on a double by speedy outfielder David Lough. Both players scored when Falu singled to right several batters later. Falu, himself, scored two batters later on an RBI single by Jarrod Dyson to hand Omaha a 3-0 lead.

The Storm Chasers did not stop there and pushed their lead to 6-0 in the fourth on a two-run jack by Giavotella and a bases loaded infield single that deflected off of Nashville's pitcher that scored Tony Abreu.

The Sounds would not go down quietly and posted a single run off of Verdugo in the fifth and individual runs in the seventh and eighth off of reliever Ethan Hollingsworth. However, Sisk was able to preserve the 6-3 lead with his save.

Omaha and Nashville will wrap up their four game series on Tuesday with an early 11:05 a.m. start time. Tuesday's morning game will have Bingo for seniors and is also a designated Hit the Books day at the ballpark brought to you by Nebraska Educational Savings Trust and Outback Steakhouse.
